Retro & Asian Style Decorating, Bo Tian’s Home

Bo Tian’s home.
Antique Chinese cabinet,

The retro style is a great way for you to redo the decor in your home. This style is now becoming almost as popular as when it first came about in the past decades. The retro style itself is full of some unique looks, and colors that are bright and bold. With influences coming from the 50′s all the way into the 70′s. Changing your decor that is dull into this style that is full of colors and textures can make a room lively and warm.
Retro has to be one of the easiest styles to change over too. It’s a great experiment in adding accessories that are funky looking and have a fantastic design. With retro the main idea is to add in things that you would normally think are too out there in your other styles. Additions of textures are another great way to bring in the retro! Add some great area rugs, throw pillow and even change the cushions on your couch to a fantastic bold design. (via: articledirectorycentral.com)
Asian interiors are designed to bring peace, balance, and serenity to the space, which is kept simple and uncluttered. The quality and craftsmanship is exquisite. The style is merging with western style to create a unique Asian-influenced decor.
Chinese interiors are known through the wonderful carved furnishings like hand painted designs on glossy finishes, brightly colored accessories and ornaments. Red is the most used color because it is the sign of good luck. Chinese interiors are bold with their bold colors that are used to accent the room. The bright bold colors only enhance the dark wood tomes and high gloss finishes are combined for a dramatic theme. These types of rooms are also known to have large murals with cultural scenes. They are often from the characters and legends known from China’s history. (via Ezilon.com Articles)

Oriental Home Decor – Chinese Traditional Home Decor
The most popular decorating style these days seems to be Oriental designs. One particular Oriental design which many people love is the traditional Chinese interior. Chinese style tend to be bold and beautiful, using colorful fabrics of upholstery as well as out-of-the box items like saris for home decor.

Bright, vivid colors are used in oriental style decorating, with red, gold and black being dominant. Gold or multi-colored dragons against a red, white or black background are common.

A Glamorous Country Style Home, Full Of Color And Bold Prints

My favorate interior design project from countryliving. This is a 19th-century houses in New York’s Catskills, renovate by Gotham magazine lifestyle editor, Jason Oliver Nixon, and decorator John Loecke , now it is a weekend retreat, full of color, bold prints, and a playful spirit.

Black kitchen cabinets, colorful decoration

Built-in drawers and storage cubbies compensate for no closets.
A Chinese-Inspired Railing, green color
This railing was inspired by a Chinese garden bridge.

Modern English Country Living Room
The overall design was meant to harken to the classic interiors found in the English country house of a century ago–rooms filled with antiques, sculptural furniture pieces, and botanical patterns and prints on the walls. John and Jason reinterpreted the look, however, by introducing some decidedly offbeat pieces, including silver scallop sconces, giraffe print pillows, and a tropical-inspired chandelier.
Green Bathroom
Faux bathroom paneling was crafted of 4×4′s.

Flea Market Equestrian Prints
Flea-market equestrian prints pop against a chocolate-brown wall.

Colorful Tableware
“By putting a few pieces of large furniture in a small space, a room feels bigger,” observes John. “It’s a trick of the eye and a fact about decorating that surprises.”
