SANTPERE47 is a typical Barcelona’s apartment of the end of the 19th century that was recently renovated by Miel Architects. As any other apartment should, it features very creative space saving storage solutions. There are 2.20 meter high ceilings so the open plan living room features a staircase that leads mezzanines of storage and bottle racks. Besides, that staircase is also full of built-in storage for books and shoes. The apartment also has a very interesting golden art craft ceiling in the dining room which looks like it’s covered with a carpet. Courtyard House on a Steep Site – Interior and Exterior

The site is extremely long, narrow and steep. Courtyards are carved into the hillside for daylight and privacy. One enters at the center of the house.
The program is for a residence of approximately 6,700 SF, with a detached 3-car garage. The site is very steep, long and narrow – it’s 50’ wide by 400’ long with an average slope of 35%. Located on the west side of Mercer Island, there are panoramic views west towards Seattle and the Olympic Mountains beyond.

Hutchison & Maul Architecture
Seattle-based Hutchison & Maul Architects was founded by Robert Hutchison and Tom Maul in 2001. Exploring space and form through the medium of envelope, Hutchison & Maul’s designs are characterized by site-specific solutions which encompass functionality and efficiency through the use of a limited material palette, and a focus on one or two primary architectural elements. The firm performs work at all scales, from small art studios and residences to large institutional buildings and conceptual master plans. The firm also actively undertakes conceptual and installation work, which typically seeks to celebrate the history and past use of existing buildings, while highlighting their architectural qualities and potential for reuse. Hutchison & Maul was one of eight firms selected as a “2009 Emerging Voice” by the Architectural League of NY.

Robert Hutchison received his Master of Architecture from the University of Washington, has undergraduate degrees in Architectural and Structural Engineering from Drexel University, and performed research in Norway on a Valle Scholarship. Prior to establishing Hutchison & Maul, Hutchison worked as a Structural Engineer for four years, and served as a Project Manager and Project Architect at The Miller/Hull Partnership. He teaches design studio on an annual basis at the University of Washington College of Architecture & Urban Planning, and recently taught a graduate studio at the Washington State University School of Architecture. Hutchison currently serves as a board member on 4Culture’s Public Art Advisory Committee and the independent architectural group Space.City.

Tom Maul received his Master of Architecture from the University of Washington, has an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University, and attended the International Program at the Helsinki University of Technology. Prior to establishing Hutchison & Maul, Maul worked as a Project Manager in the Starbucks Design Department, was an Associate at Karreman Associates, and served as a Project Manager and Project Architect for GGLO. He teaches design studio on an annual basis at the University of Washington College of Architecture & Urban Planning. Maul currently serves as a board member on AIA Seattle’s Committee on Design. Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. As a teenager, he submerged himself in skateboard culture and graffiti art, the foundation of the detailed, bold-yet-whimsical imagery so imminent in his work today. After studying industrial design in Madrid and Paris he joined Fabrica in 1997, the Benetton-funded design and communication academy, working closely with the legendary image-maker and agitator Oliverio Toscani. In a short time he was promoted from student to head of their Design Department, where he oversaw projects ranging from shop, restaurant and exhibition conception and design to graphics. Eight years later, Jaime broke out on his own, first with collections of designer toys, ceramics and furniture, followed by interior design and installation.

Mediterranean Style Camper space design

The intention of this project was to give an absolute yet subtle change to the way the Camper space is envisioned. To promote a luxury ambient inside the shop, turning it into a symbol of elegance. Very special pieces were created for this shop: handmade wood tables with different and abundant legs, very much within the Hayon style. A set of hand crafted terra-cotta lamps was designed specially for the space. A new technology was developed to give these lamps an earthy yet sophisticated surface. For the cash point space, we created an unusual piece of furniture with a very “Olympic” shape, all in red. We chose a red floor in resin of a silky and glossy effect that playfully contrasts the rest of the space.

These designs are from McAlpine Booth & Ferrier Interiors, I like them because they give me the warm and natural feelings, The designs was so perfect that they look as though they were designed just for you.

McAlpine Booth & Ferrier Interiors, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, is a partnership of Bobby McAlpine, Ray Booth and Susan Ferrier. The interiors firm, in existence since 1997, attracts clients from across the United States with designs for both the public and private sectors including residences, restaurants and a chapel. The design details are stunning, the texture is rich and the palette though restained is not limited. It’s like a gentleman’s grand tour meets french influences with lashings of casual elegance and historical reference but it’s not predictable and twee. Industrial and faded sits easily with linen and silk.

Ron mann’s design studio and home are in sonoma, california. His work encompasses commercial and residential projects, with a focus on designing from the ground up.

Ron prefers to custom design and build all interior and exterior elements of a property with an eye to integrating the structures with the terrain. he utilizes environmentally sustainable building practices, including recycled woods, locally harvested stone and natural materials in both construction and furnishing.

These beautiful rooms were shot by Alec Hemer, a great photographer. His commercial clients include williams Sonoma, West Elm, Dell Computers, Pottery Barn, LG, Crate and Barrel, Armstrong, Walmart, Home Depot, Macy’s and Westin Hotels and Resorts.

Beautiful light and clever composition make his work highly sort after by major magazines and for companies such as Williams Sonoma, West Elm, Design within Reach and Laura Ashley. His ability to capture the essence of a room is inspiring.

It never ceases to amaze me that a great photograph can change my mind on how I like things. Normally I would say that most of these rooms do little for me and if I walked into them in real life I would probably think “eewwhhh” but this guy makes me want to stop and look closer. Guess that’s a photographer’s job.

They are from Sera of London, Sera of London is an exotic and sumptuous boutique, exhibiting sensual and seductively elegant tastes in room designs and decorative accessories. It resembles a 1930′s delicious upmarket bordello and comprises of 4 ‘salons’. Each room is decorated in a heavenly manner, selling the infamous’ Rude lampshades ‘ hailed by the Times as resembling John Gallianos cat-walk corsets,

the collaboration between Sera and the renowned Parisian wallpaper house Zuber’s new collection of ultra feminine and extra sexy lace wallpapers , all topped by Sumptuous foxy cushion collections made of satins and velvets. Furnishings are ,strictly for the boudouir.
